Respite Weekend for Families of Children with AutismThis project arose out of a conversation between Club members and the parents and teachers at the Frankston Special Development School.
During the conversation it was stated that it was difficult for families of children with disabilities to take time away because of the difficulties that arise from accomodating a child with an intelectual or physical disability.
Some places aren''''t equipped for the intelectually disabled even though the place may have all things in place to satisy the requirements of those with a physical disability.
We Lions have access to one of the best facilities for children and adults of all abilities.
The lions Wildreness Village located at Licola on the banks of the McAllister River north west of Traralgon in the foothills of the Australian Alps.
The village has all the facilities to cater for children and adults of diferent abilities and includes access to adventure sports, outdoor activities, water sports, basketball, mini golf, archery, high ropes, low ropes, giant swing, abseiling, rock climbing, bush walking and may more.
The Lions CLub of Karingal has undertaken to provide a weekend at Licola for the families of children attending Frankston Special Development School on the weekend of 30th Sept and the 1st & 2nd of October 2011.
All accomodation, meals and activities will be provided and on Saturday night we''''ll hold an old time dance in the hall.

RIDE FOR SIGHT 2018So sad. The rest of the ride has been called off due to the weather conditions being unsafe for it to continue. We are all disappointed but we can't do anything about the weather.
Now to Inverloch by vehicle for lunch and presentations with a little bit of light entertainment.
It's been a fabulous adventure and already our fundraising has hit a new high, with more funds yet to be received.
Congrats to committee, the cyclists, volunteers and all the Lions Clubs involved along the way for everything running to plan, on time and with safety. Again thanks to Lions for feeding us and organising accommodation and other details.
